The Jeu de Paume yurt: a one-of-a-kind venue in Versailles

At the back of our courtyard-garden stands our yurt. It hosts dinners, cocktails, workshops. It has become Jeu de Paume's most recognisable signature. Here is its story.

Genesis and build

We wanted a space distinct from the meeting room. The yurt idea came from a trip to the Luberon. Wood frame, canvas, wool insulation. Built in 2022 by Mongolian craftspeople. About 50 sqm floor, central ceiling over 4 metres.

What we do there

Seminar lunches, breakfast room, cocktails for up to 40, cooking workshops with our chefs, yoga or sophrology, sometimes a simple fireside moment on closing night.

Why it works

The circular shape changes dynamics: no head of table. Hierarchies soften over the meal. Heated in winter, naturally ventilated in summer. To visit: Fanny Colson arranges private visits.
